Royal Marines Cake |
During the week
of 22nd to 28th October 2012, The Vanilla Pod Bakery was excited to help raise much needed funds and
awareness for the Royal Marine’s Charitable Trust Fund. We took part in their
Cakes for Commando’s Week by raffling a delicious and appropriately themed, Vanilla Pod 8” round cake. We did this
through our Facebook page and a Just Giving page, exclusively set up for the
event. This was the first time we had raised funds through a social media raffle
and for Royal Marines.
Facebook was fantastic
in raising awareness for Cakes for Commando’s week. The Royal Marine’s wives
and girlfriends (WAGS) were brilliant in helping us through the support of
their Facebook pages too. Owner, Pia was chuffed to chat to Claire Carter on
BBC Radio Gloucestershire on the Friday and the lovely Total Star FM also gave
us a great shout out.

The raffle was drawn on Saturday the 27th
October, and the lucky winner was Tim. We hope he enjoyed the cake!
The Vanilla Pod Bakery had a fantastic week
and raised £68.75 for the Royal Marine’s Charitable Trust Fund. We received a
lovely letter thanking Vanilla Pod
for our support and donations.
