Today we are catching up with the fantastic Ross Moore who works at the brilliant Sausage and Pear, a catering service for weddings and other events.vents
Describe your business in five words?
We supply catering, marquees & Bars
When and why did you start your business?
Sausage and Pear was formed in 2008. We started supplying wholesale
cakes and scones to local tourist attractions. After just 6 months we
moved solely into catering and stopped supplying cakes.
What do you love most about the work you do?
I love event catering, especially the camaraderie between the staff.
There is an attitude of 'we are all in this together so lets do the best
job possible..' I love getting amazing feedback from clients as well, its
great to be appreciated.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I wouldn't change anything in my life. :)
How can brides and grooms find you?
Google, word of mouth, blogs, etc.
Do you have any wedding stories to tell or embarrassing work
moments?
On a hot summer Saturday last year, upon setting up the venue we
noticed that the wedding cake was tilting slightly. We took a closer
look and realized that one sponge was sinking into the other. As we
had nearly 2 hours until the bride and groom arrived, we ended up
taking it in turns to hold the cake upright to stop it melting completely.
Luckily the cake just managed to hold until the wedding ceremony,
when I duly informed the bride and groom and advised them to cut the
cake early, disaster averted..
And finally, what is your "one" top tip you can give to a bride and groom?
Don't stress about anything, or worry about things, everything will flow on the day :)
It was great to meet you Ross.
Best wishes,
Pia x
