One of our favourite types of cakes this year has to be our Mary Berry Cake, so called because is is simply a wonderful classic cake sponge pilled high with a wonderful array of fresh fruit and pretty flowers, a true British gem like Mary Berry.
We have had the joy of baking these type of cakes for weddings, birthday parties and christenings. A delightful cake that is decorated with either a thin scraping of buttercream or just a dusting if icing sugar and an array of colourful summer or winter berries. Delicious for any time of year and perfect for any type of occasion.
A beautiful tempting cake managing to be elegant yet rustic at the same time.
