15 Days To Freedom Blog Challenge - Day 12 - Toffee Sauce Recipe

After writing a post about the Las Vegas cake, I thought I would share the toffee sauce recipe I used to help make the yummy Sticky Toffee cake. 

This toffee sauce is seriously yum and goes with just about anything! 

Whip it up with ice-cream and dash of milk in a blender to make delicious thick milkshake, pour over a warm chocolate sponge to create a toffee infused dessert or as a lovely topping to a stack of pancakes.






Recipe:

150g golden syrup
125g single cream
85g brown sugar
55g white sugar
55g butter
1/2 tsp vanilla paste

Method:

1. Gently melt the butter in saucepan and the add both sugars, the syrup and the vanilla paste.

2. Simmer mixture for around 3-4 minutes, until sugars have melted.

3. Remove from heat and leave to cool for a couple of minutes.

4. Then add the cream and stir well.

5.  Return to the heat for 1 - 2 minutes, then either serve straight away of leave to cool then place in Tupperware.

*This toffee sauce can be enjoyed for up to weeks when kept in the fridge.
