Pink and Gold Dessert Table
Today I am going to share a pretty pink and gold dessert table I made for a lovely couple who got married at the gorgeous Cripps Barn, Bibury.
Having never met the couple the dessert table was completely organised via phone and email. The bride had gone for subtle pink and gold theme so we designed the dessert table to complement this.
I think the table looked very pretty and was a sight for all the senses (it smelt amazing too!) - I just wanted to drive and eat them all!

Meringue Cake by The Vanilla Pod Bakery
This fabulous single tiered wedding cake was created for a wonderful couple who held their wedding at the gorgeous Cripps Barn in Bibury, Gloucestershire.
The cake was a delicious combination of four layers of summer flavours. Two layers of sponge were a fantastic zesty lemon and the other two a wholesome fresh blueberry all sandwiched together with layers of lemon curd and blueberry buttercream. The cake was finished a seriously tasty torched fluffy Italian meringue.

As well at the mouth-watering cake the couple also had fabulously fun little meringue kisses from the Meringue Girls. The whole cake table looked ridiculously yummy.

I loved the fact the wedding was styled completely with green foliage from at Garden & Wild, it was so elegant yet relaxed at the same time.

This weekend was the fabulous Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival and I decided the make the most of it!
I do love a good food festival and with this one literally on my door step, I couldn't resist. The Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival runs every June, and before I started specialising in wedding cakes I used to trade here too.
Saturday was actually not that busy and slightly marred by the rain but Sunday was a dry, and therefore heaving! The highlight of Sunday had to be seeing Jean-Christophe Novelli in the Real Food & Drink Theatre, thought we couldn't actually hear what he was saying as the tent was packed and we were standing on the outside!

I went with friends on both the Saturday and Sunday, and with over 200 exhibitors the hardest decision was deciding what to eat for lunch! Everything looked so tempting!
On the Saturday, it was a bit of an alcohol fuelled day for us. There were gin stands everywhere and what with it being world gin day it would have been rude not too! We sampled most of what the festival had to offer and my favourite gins definitely had to be from Sibling Distillery and Brennen & Brown - which I am happy to say are both Gloucestershire based, yey keeping it local.
As well as gin, there were also loads of cheese stalls, and I love cheese, so was in my element. We sampled a fair few and I ended up buying a delicious smoked cheese from Lymn Bank Farm. (I have just had some with crackers, so good).
The food lovers marquees were great but we made the mistake of going around them at 2:00pm - never go around at lunchtime! They are always too busy, you can't move and it ends up being a frustrating experience. We eventually managed to get out and then went back in at 4:00pm, a much, much, much better experience. You can can see what is on offer, talk to the traders and take your time to make your purchases.

One of the more random events at the festival was the World Potato Peeling Contest, none-the-less we stayed to watch it and the crowd certainly enjoyed it. Well done to the winner!

My purchases!
Both myself, my friends bought lots of delicious item and we ended up devouring most of it there, including some heavenly raspberry marshmallows from Cottage Sweets. But I did take home a tasty looking cream egg shot from Retro Shots, a fabulous home curing kit by Ross & Ross (going to be a father's day present for my Dad next week), and the cheese which I mentioned earlier.
I did have a great time at the festival, but I do think the entrance fee should be slightly less and I certainly think you shouldn't have to the full price after 6:00pm (my boyfriend and I left early to meet other friends who did not want to pay the full price for an hour of the festival). But it was a awesome festival despite that minor issue and I will be back from a visit or two next year!
Let me know if you went to the 2015 Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival and what you thought about it?
Best wishes,

I was very excited to have been featured on Enterprise Nation at the beginning of June.
They invited Enterprise Nation friends and member to share their One Top Tip for business and mine was one of the chosen ones!
"I really do think it is important to speak to everyone as you never know you might meet and how they would help you now or in the future".
Here is my video below...though I think I sound a bit funny!
What would be your one top tip for business?
Best wishes,

A couple of weeks ago I created this elegant and fun wedding cupcake tower for a lovely couple who got married at the gorgeous Pittville Pump Rooms in beautiful Cheltenham.
The cake tower was delicious mix of Cappuccino, Victoria Sandwich and Lemon Drizzle cupcakes in regular and bite sizes. Finished with a very fashionable naked cake piled high with an abundance of fresh fruit and a dusting of icing sugar.
Each of the dainty cupcakes were decorated with either an elegant vanilla buttercream swirl or a buttercream swirl and a handmade sugar sunflower, white Gerbera or a sprinkling of teeny tiny handmade pale blue flowers.
The overall effect was very striking and the cupcake tower looked stunning in the grand regency building. When collecting the cake stand the next week I was told not a single cake was left!
"Pia,
Just wanted to say thank you so much for the cake for the wedding. They looked fantastic and it all tasted superb.
Thanks Kev"
I really enjoyed creating this cupcake tower and I have noticed more and more couples are choosing cake towers for their weddings. They are a fantastic celebration cake as everyone can have their own individual dessert.
Let me know what you think below, would you have a cupcake tower at your wedding?
Best wishes,
Pia x
