We created this 4 tier wedding cake for a lovely couple who got married at the Frogmill Hotel in the middle of March on a beautiful snowy day. Yes, that is correct it snowed in the middle of March! I know the English weather is some what bizarre, but I never expected a spring wedding to have snow! Through it did make everything look magical and like a winter wonderland.
The Frogmill Hotel - through our camera doesn't do it justice!
The cake had four tiers of delicious sponge cakes. The top tier was Carrot and Sultana followed by a tangy Lemon Curd Drizzle, the third tier was a Classic Victoria Sandwich and the fourth a rich Belgian Chocolate. The design was country elegance with two of the tiers decorated with a hand piped lace design inspired by the brides wedding dress. The hand made sugar roses and tiny flowers were added for a subtle splash of colour and to tie it in with the overall wedding colour theme of deep maroon.
The venue looked wonderful when team Vanilla Pod Bakery went to set up the cake and we would like to wish the happy couple all the best for the future and I hope they had a fantastic day.
